The Morristown Police Department regrets to inform you of the passing of Chief Henry Albrecht Jr. on 6/6/2024 from a medical emergency while off duty. Chief Albrecht is a 32-year member of the Morristown Police Department, a 44-year member of the Morristown Volunteer Fire Department, a 10-year member of the Sugar Creek Fire Department of Hancock County, and a 6-year member of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department in Indiana.

Funeral Arrangements for Chief Henry Albrecht Jr of the Morristown Police Department

Location: Morristown Jr/Sr High School 223 S Patterson St. Morristown, IN

Visitation: Friday 6/14/2024 4:00pm-8:00pm EST & Saturday 6/15/2024 1030am-1130am EST

Funeral: Saturday 6/15/2024 1130am EST

Interment: Asbury Cemetery 10751 N Asbury Road Morristown, IN to follow funeral

The procession route will be Morristown Jr/Sr High School, North on Patterson Street, West on Main Street to the Morristown Town Hall, East in front of the Fire Department, and North on Asbury Rd immediately following the funeral services. Chief Albrecht will be marked off duty in front of the Morristown Fire Department.

Due to a projected large turnout for the funeral and visitation, residents of Morristown are asked to walk or carpool to the school on both days if possible. If you plan on participating in the procession and graveside service, please arrive early. We will be utilizing multiple parking lots in the area of the school.

Parking for Public Safety Attending the Funeral and participating in the procession will occur on South Street east of Patterson on Saturday Morning. Public Safety Attending the funeral are asked to arrive no later than 10:30 am on Saturday.

For the graveside service, Public Safety vehicles will be parked on Asbury Road. Overflow parking for the public will occur on 1100 North, east of Asbury once the cemetery is full.

The weather is reported to be very hot on both Friday and Saturday, please hydrate properly as those wishing to pay their respects may be required to stand outside before entering the school based on the turnout.
